Reaccreditation of our International School Award
SCIS is excited to register her application for the reaccreditation of the British Council International School Award. This recognition, awarded by the British Council, is a badge of honour for schools that demonstrate a year-long commitment to activities fostering an international dimension in education. It celebrates the efforts of schools to raise young people with cultural understanding and the essential skills needed to live and work as global citizens.
This school year, we are working on the following project topics:
- Trash to Treasure
- Building the Community
- Life Springs Forth
- Farm Fresh Magic
- Sighting Signs and Catching Sounds
- My Daily Routine (Ma Journée Quotidienne)
- Cherished Rhythms
- Market Adventures
These activities are designed to provide opportunities for learners and teachers to learn, share learning experiences, and collaborate to address global issues. Through these efforts, SCIS continues to equip her learners with the core skills required to thrive in a competitive and interconnected world, while deepening their awareness of our shared and interdependent global community.
Sighting Signs And Catching Sounds
Our nursery learners embarked on an exciting sensory journey as they explored different sounds and their meanings. Through engaging activities, they identified various sounds in their environment and what each one signifies. Sounds such as the fire alarm for warning and safety and a school bell for transition times.
In addition to sounds, the young learners explored different road signs, learning their importance in daily life. They creatively expressed their understanding by drawing and discussing the uses of key signs like traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, stop and no-parking signs.
This hands-on activity enhanced their observation skills and fostered early awareness of their surroundings, promoting safety and critical thinking in a fun and interactive way.
